Important: what the $149 actually covers

Our $149 duct service is a standard whole-home maintenance cleaning. It covers a full negative-air-machine cleaning of the ductwork plus a hand shop-vac pass on every floor vent — removing loose dust, dirt, and debris from the system.

It does not include duct repair, resealing, mold remediation, or replacing damaged sections. If our technician finds something like that, we’ll show you exactly what we found and give you a separate, clear quote before any of that work starts. You’ll never be charged for work you didn’t approve.

The process

What happens during a duct & vent cleaning.

Every maintenance cleaning follows the same process, in every home we service.

1

Protect the home

We lay drop cloths along the path from your door to the system access points, and seal off registers we’re not actively working on.

2

Whole-system negative air

A negative air machine puts the entire duct system under vacuum, so loosened dust and debris get pulled out and contained — not pushed further into your home.

3

Agitate every line

Supply and return lines get agitated to knock loose the dust that's settled and stuck to the interior of the ductwork, so the vacuum can actually pull it out.

4

Shop-vac every floor vent

Every accessible floor and wall vent gets a hand shop-vac pass — no dust, dirt, or hair left sitting right where it blows back into the room.

Walkthrough & written report

We show you what we found — with photos if anything's worth noting — before we leave.

Worth knowing

Signs your ducts may need cleaning — or more.

A cleaning removes dust and debris that's already in the system. If you notice any of the following, it's worth having a technician take a look:

Airflow

Visible dust blowing from vents

If you can see dust kick up when the system turns on, or settle noticeably faster near vents than elsewhere in the room, that's a clear sign.

Smell

Musty odor when the HVAC runs

A stale or musty smell that only shows up when the system is running — and fades when it's off — often points to buildup or moisture in the ductwork.

Comfort

Uneven airflow room to room

Some rooms noticeably weaker on airflow than others can mean a blockage somewhere in that branch of the system, not just a vent that needs adjusting.

Health

More dust or allergy symptoms indoors

If dusting feels like a losing battle, or allergy symptoms seem worse indoors than out, buildup in the ductwork recirculating through the home is a common contributor.

Renovation

Recent construction or renovation

Drywall dust and debris from remodeling work has a way of ending up in the ductwork, even with plastic sheeting up during the job.

Pests

Signs of pests near vents

Droppings, nesting material, or odd sounds near registers can mean something's gotten into the ductwork — worth a look beyond a standard cleaning.

If we find something

How it works if your ductwork needs more than a cleaning.

We're not going to talk you into work you don't need, and we're not going to start anything you haven't approved. If your cleaning turns up a problem like the ones above, here's what happens:

1. We show you, not just tell you. Photos of the actual issue, explained in plain language — not just a line item on an invoice.

2. You get a separate, written quote. Cost depends entirely on what's needed, so it's priced after a technician actually sees it — never guessed at over the phone.

3. Nothing happens without your OK. The $149 cleaning is complete and paid for either way. Anything beyond that is a separate decision, on your timeline.

Questions

HVAC vent & duct cleaning FAQ

How often should ductwork be cleaned?

Every 3–5 years for most homes, sooner if you're noticing dust, allergy symptoms, or you've recently had renovation work done. We'll give you an honest read on where your home stands as part of the free estimate.

Does the $149 price include fixing anything you find?

No — $149 covers the standard whole-home maintenance cleaning only. Duct repair, resealing, or mold remediation is a separate, itemized quote based on what's actually needed, and nothing gets done without your approval first.

How long does a duct cleaning take?

Most homes take about 30–50 minutes, depending on the number of vents and how the ductwork is laid out. We'll give you a time estimate specific to your home before we start.

Do you also clean dryer vents?

Yes — that's a separate service since dryer vents run to the outside, not through your HVAC system. See our dryer vent cleaning guide for details and pricing.
